An Osaka trip would not be complete without visiting one of Japan’s iconic landmarks, the Osaka Castle. The castle was built in 1583 but the whole construction was completed in 1597. The stunning Osaka Castle is open to public. It is surrounded by a beautiful garden, lake and stone walls. I could imagine how beautiful it is during cherry blossom’s season.
From JR Osaka Station, we took the JR train to Osakajokoen Station which is ¥160 per ride. The castle is walking distance, about 15-20 minutes, from the station. I went with my parents so we were a bit slow.
But since the way to the castle was already breathtaking, we didn’t really mind the long walk.
I was in awe the first time I saw the castle from afar. It’s so beautiful!
The castle is well-maintained and is definitely a great piece of Japan’s history. We didn’t go inside the castle because we think that it’s not really necessary plus the fact that we can’t read and understand Japanese so it wouldn’t really make sense. However, for those who wants to go inside can pay ¥600.
The castle looks so magnificent. I think it is one of the most picturesque places in the country.
The Osaka Castle is also stunning to look at during the night.
I would love to see the castle during cherry blossom’s season.
Tell me about your experience! Have you visited Osaka Castle or other castles in Japan?
I would love to hear from you!
